marianne greenwood was a swedish photographer & author who left her native lappland to travel alone around the world spending decades living with indigenous people in the americas & south pacific. she also lived in different parts of europe, befriending picasso among others & eventually settling in the south of france. she came to my knowledge via a swedish documentary made a few years ago but I don't think there is a comprehensive photography book on her work as yet. 30,000 of her photo's are apparently here at the ethnographic museum in stockholm...if you havent seen the documentary, i highly recommend you do, her story & her work are just fantastic. photo's via official website
