prinzessinnengarten berlin
so on our trip to berlin & to the etsy conference we found out about this amazing urban garden started on a vacant lot in 2009 in kreuzberg, berlin & now is an up and running restaurant, community project & learning center. they also have honey bee colonies & the food grown in the garden organically is used for the restaurant there. we went to check it out  & were surprised to find the prices are actually quite cheap, bearing in mind everything is locally produced & organic as well. the food was excellent with a different menu everyday depending on whats available from the garden. it's the perfect hang out place & very relaxing, really recommend you go & see it if your in berlin, you just get off at moritzplatz & you cant really miss it. check their site for opening times. we were amazed by the variety & amount of stuff growing there, they grow over 65 different varieties of potato for example!? you can see in these pics, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, zucchini, all kinds of stuff growing in temp containers for easy movability if they have to or want to move to a different vacant lot in future.
